Dr. Joe Owens, III, DVM

Dr. Joe Owens is originally from Marlboro, Massachusetts but was raised in Durham, North Carolina. At age 10 he developed a strong interest in animal health care while he worked closely with his mother and mentor, Sharon Owens, DVM. Dr. Joe Owens attended Tuskegee University where he earned the prestigious position of Mr. Tuskegee University and served as an influential liaison between the college campus and its neighboring communities. He later graduated with Honors with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2008. Dr. Owens continued his studies at Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2012. His professional interests include soft tissue surgeries, internal medicine and emergency and critical care. During his free time, Dr. Owens enjoys exercising, traveling and spending time with his Aussie/Shepard Mix, Que.
Dr. Alex Edwards, DVM
Dr. Edwards was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, which is located about 5 miles outside of Washington, DC. He attended St. Stephens & St. Agnes High School in Alexandria where he excelled as a three sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and running track. After high school, Dr. Edwards decided to attend the University of Virginia, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2014. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Dr. Edwards was accepted into the Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine’s class of 2018, from where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Edwards’ love for animals goes all the way back to his childhood, growing up with multiple dogs, as well as visiting farms and enjoying numerous horse races with his family. His interest in the field include small animal surgery, small animal internal medicine, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Edwards currently has one pet of his own, a 2.5 year old shepherd mix, named Bash.
Shannon has dedicated her life to the care of companion animals. Since the young age of 14, Shannon has been in the animal care industry in Las Vegas and California. At the age of 18, she was the proud owner of two successful veterinary practices in the Las Vegas valley, focusing on high quality of care and always offering the best medicine. As a non-DVM owner, Shannon has had the privilege of working with many Valley Veterinarians and training them as well as technicians in standards of care, anesthesia protocol and much more. Her knowledge and experience after 15 years in veterinary medicine has made her have compassion for owners with her fully understanding the emotional connection between owners and their pets. Shannon has made it her mission to invest in the health, happiness and healing of lives from the inside out. Her faith in Jesus and her love for her family encapsulate who she is. Her belief system at the core is evident in her practices and how she gets so close to clients and her staff. Shannon has a history in pet training and takes time rescuing unwanted pets and rehabilitating them into society so they can have forever homes. Her husband Paul, her son Isaiah and her three corgis Chupacabra, Nubbin and Puppy make up her happy home.
Joshua has worked in the Animal Care industry for 8 years. His experience ranges from Boarding Resort and Spa owner and operator to Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist. Joshua is also an experienced dog and cat groomer who has a passion for perfection. Caring, compassionate and empathetic to your needs, Joshua values connecting with people on an intimate level.
